SpreadBetting.com has been an independent education resource for UK spread betting since the 2000s, relaunched in 2026 with a simple editorial stance: risk first.
Editorial policy
Every page shows the date it was last reviewed. Facts — margin rules, tax figures, market levels used in examples — are checked against primary sources (FCA rules, HMRC guidance, providers' own regulatory disclosures) at review time. We rank and recommend no providers: this site teaches how the product works and how to evaluate any FCA-authorised firm yourself, starting from the FCA register and each firm's published loss rate. Our A–Z directory is strictly alphabetical, non-commercial and carries no ratings — inclusion is not endorsement. We don't publish sign-up offers or bonuses: the FCA banned incentives for these products in 2019, and content built on them is marketing, not information.
How we make money
Currently, we don't. This site carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no paid placements — there is nothing on it that earns money from your choice of provider. If that ever changes, the commercial relationship will be disclosed plainly on this page and in the site footer first.
What this site is not
Nothing here is investment advice or a personal recommendation. We describe products and let you judge suitability; most retail accounts lose money with these products, and education reduces — but does not remove — that risk.

The rule that outranks every guide: never bet more than you can afford to lose.
